AVDA’s Mission Statement
AVDA promotes violence-free relationships and social change by offering alternative choices to end violence and domestic abuse.
For more than 25 years, Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) has acted as a safe haven for thousands of victims of domestic abuse. The nonprofit organization provides those in need with emergency shelter, transitional housing, crisis counseling, food, clothing, individual and group counseling services.
Public donations are used to assist victims during their transition back to a normal, violence free lifestyle while they receive supportive services and life skills training in order to obtain gainful employment and locate affordable housing, improving their chances of living independently from an abusive partner.
